Career Girls MurdersTwo young women, Janice Wylie (TL) and Emily Hoffert (TR), were brutally slashed to death in their Manhattan apartment in 1963 in an incident that become known as the "Career Girls Murders". Police originally charged George Whitmore (LL) with the double murder and beat Whitmore until he confessed. Whitmore recanted his confession later. Whitmore's treatment by the police was cited by the US Supreme Court as part of the issuance of the rules that would become known as the Miranda rights. Later evidence brought in by an informant led the police to Wylie and Hoffert's real murderer, Richard Robles (LR). Robles was a known drug dealer and burgler who had broken into the women's apartment looking for money to buy drugs. ( automatický preklad ) ( ukáž pôvodný text ) | ||
