FILES-GERMANY-CHILE-MINING-ACCIDENTFILES - Picture taken on November 7, 1963 shows rescue workers saving a miner with a so-called "Dahlbuschbombe", a tool for the saving of trapped miners, from a collapsed mine in Lengede near Salzgitter, central Germany. The tool was used for the first time in the year 1955 for miners trapped at the Dahlbusch mine in Gelsenkirchen, western Germany. With the aid of the "Dahlbusch Bomb", 11 miners were rescued from a collapsed mine in Lengede near Salzgitter after surviving 14 days. The accident, which happened in the year 1963, became known as the "Miracle of Lengede" (Wunder von Lengede). At the Chilean San Jose gold and copper mine, 33 miners are still trapped deep underground since August 5, 2010. Rescuers say it will take three to four months for a 30-ton hydraulic drill to chew through the rock to where the miners were holding out.
