Free-Diver Rob Welton

Free-Diver Rob Welton

***EXCLUSIVE*** BORNEO - MARCH: Rob Welton climbs up a boat ladder during March, 2006 in Borneo. Despite being just 15-years-old incredible Rob Welton cast a figure of pure determination and bravery last week as he took on free-diving next to colossal humpback whales in shark-infested waters in Mboyti, South Africa. While many think teenagers are just playing computer games or trying to sneak into the local pub, adventurous Rob, from Bradford-on-Avon, Wilts., instead travels the world and literally throws himself into the deep - witnessing spectacles like the dramatic sardine run. While the youngster may not yet have his GCSE results, which he sat this summer, he knows for certain that he's got top marks of another kind - as Rescue Diver trained to save lives. Rob has been able to swim since he was two and mum Fiona Tees, 47, dealt with complaints from overly-worried teachers at school who said he stayed underwater too much during lessons in the pool. But the water baby has now achieved the highest possible diving level for his age as a PADI Rescue Diver. Part of an "elite class" of advanced young divers in the UK, Rob has travelled over 50,000 miles and racked up an astonishing 44 dives across five countries and three continents. He has gone through three major stages of diving expertise in just four year and is on the road to realising his dream: becoming a marine biologist.  ( automatický preklad  ) ( ukáž pôvodný text )
