Obama signs Defense Act Bill including hate crime law expansion

October 28, 2009, Washington, DC, USA: President Barack Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010 in the East Room of the White House. The $680 billion policy bill sets guidance that is followed by congressional committees deciding appropriations. Obama hailed it as a step toward ending needless military spending. The measure also expands current hate crimes law to include violence based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. It was tacked onto the must-pass bill by Democrats to assure its passage after years of frustrated efforts, over the steep objections of many Republicans.///Barack Obama delivers remarks. ( automatický preklad  ) ( ukáž pôvodný text )
